Day 2 of Jennifer Wardle murder trial

PURVIS, MS (WDAM) - Day two of the trial of a woman accused of killing a senior Southern Miss student in 2002 continued Tuesday morning.

Several friends and associates of James Neal May took the witness stand for the prosecution. They described the night leading up to May's death.

Those who were with May the night before his death told prosecutors that Jennifer Wardle was angry with May. They said the two got into an argument that night.

One witness told prosecutors that Wardle looked through May's truck and pulled out a hand gun.  He said Wardle asked him how to unload the weapon.  That witness said he would not unload the weapon and that she put it back.

Several witnesses also said the group had been drinking that night. May's death was initially ruled a suicide; however Wardle was indicted in 2007 for murder. The trial continues Wednesday at 9:00a.m.
