Hattiesburg official stuck on the roof for charity

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The assistant to the mayor of Hattiesburg is trying to raise money for the Red Cross by setting up an office on the roof of a community center.

John Brown climbed onto the roof of the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center Monday, and he's not coming down until he raises $1,000 for the American Red Cross South Central Mississippi Chapter.

Help get him get off the roof by giving a donation.

Donations will be taken in front of Jackie Dole or visit www.redcross-heros.com and click on the South Central Mississippi Chapter.

    After losing the first two games of the season by a combined five points, Collins has won 12 consecutive games to advance to the class 2A South State title. The Tigers (12-2) defeated Bay Springs 22-8 on Friday to advance to a south state matchup against Taylorsville (13-1). Collins scored twice in the fourth quarter to overcome the Bulldogs on the road. "I feel great," said Collins head coach Eric Booth, a former USM running back.
