HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Nearly 200 people gathered on the Southern Miss campus Saturday morning to support the fight against cystic fibrosis.
They took part in the 20th annual, "Great Strides Walk." The walk is a fundraiser for the state chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The walk was the first of nine scheduled in Mississippi this year and it coincided with the Delta-Tau-Delta sports challenge.
Officials with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation hope Saturday's events and continued fundraising in the near future will bring in about $50,000 dollars for the organization.
