MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office is looking for the man who held up a convenient store Monday morning.

Investigators said the robbery occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at Foils Grocery on Highway 98 west.

They said a man approached the store's worker with a long gun as he opened the store.  The worker apparently fought back and that's when the robber fired the gun, missing the worker.

The robber ran away. Investigators don't know if he got away with any money.

The store worker told deputies the robber was a black male, dressed in all black with a stocking over his head.  He is said to be 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build.

If you have information on this robbery, call the Marion County Sheriff's Office at 601-736-5051.
