JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Jones County man is in a burn center in Alabama with second degree burns after he was injured trying to move some hay bales that caught fire on his farm this afternoon.

Officials have not released the name of the victim, but they said the middle-aged man received burns over 40% of his body at a farm on Daisy Drive.

Officials said he was trying to remove some burning hay bales from this barn with a tractor when it caught fire. He jumped away, but not before being seriously burned.

Officials said some children accidentally set the hay bales on fire.
