Waynesboro soldier asks for donations to children's facility

WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) - A Mississippi soldier thousands of miles away is giving sick kids back home a Christmas to remember.

Josh Wood of Waynesboro is stationed in Iraq, but he asked his family not to send him a care package.

Instead, he wants them to collect toys for kids with cancer. His family has partnered with the Southern Living Facility in Waynesboro and they are collecting toys in honor of our soldiers.

Those toys will be delivered to the Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson during Christmas week.

If you would like to donate a toy in honor of a soldier and help a child fighting cancer contact the Southern Living Facility in Waynesboro.
