HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - A former Post Office worker in a Hattiesburg has pleaded guilty to stealing medications that were being mailed to veterans.
Walter McLain took the plea Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Hattiesburg.
Sentencing is March 31.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ruth Morgan said McLain admitted that "he was extremely high at the time and vaguely remembers doing it" when he stole the packages in January.
The medications were found in his locker after two colleagues reported the theft.
McLain said he has been seeing a psychologist for his problems.
