Pine Belt volunteer firefighters release calendar to raise money

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The eight volunteer fire departments in Forrest County will be featured in an upcoming calendar designed to help raise money for their organizations.

The goal of the calendars is to get monies to each department for supplies, maintenance and up-keep and to pad a benevolence fund for the firefighters and their families.

“We need the participation of the Pine Belt community to make this calendar a success” said Cathy Reber of Belk Salon and Spa in Hattiesburg.

With the help of Chip Brown from Emergency Management in Forrest County and Gina Yra, photographer, from Delush Design, the calendar features local volunteer fire departments on their home turf, capturing familiar landmarks and action events in each community.

Bourne Brothers has given a discount contribution to get the calendars printed.

The release will be set for Thanksgiving weekend.

The calendars will be on sale at each of the eight volunteer fire departments, Belk Salon and Spa, center court location, emergency management, Bourne Brothers printing and the Forrest County Multi Purpose Center.

The calendars cost $10.00 cash and many of the departments will have a kick-off and autograph session for the release.
