HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg man has been arrested and charged with discharging a weapon at a night club.

William Beverly, 27, was arrested early Sunday morning for allegedly shooting a hand gun in the air.

The incident happened after 2:00 a.m. in the parking lot of Club Memories in Hattiesburg. Hattiesburg police say the club's security had Beverly in custody when they arrived on scene.

Beverly is being held in the Forrest County Regional Jail charged with possession of a fire arm after a felony conviction.

Around the same time Sunday morning several fights broke out at nearby Club Palace.

Hattiesburg police say the fights began inside the club and spilled into the parking lot.

Police arrested one person for disorderly conduct and another person was given a post arrest for discharging a handgun.
