MUW president to retire

COLUMBUS, MS (WDAM) - Claudia Limbert announced Monday she will be retiring from her role as president of the Mississippi University for Women.

The retirement will be official when her contract ends on June 30, 2010.

Limbert has served for seven years and is the 13th president of the university.

“My MUW family has taken me on a fantastic journey and for that I will always be indebted to them. Looking back on our work together, I am truly honored and humbled to have been a part of it all,” said Limbert.

Making the decision public now gives the Board of Trustees of the State Institutions of Higher Learning ample time to pick a successor, Limbert added.
