JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Southern Miss and Mississippi State are preparing to face off in football for the first time in a generation.
Mississippi State president Mark Keenum says the first game will be played in 2014 at Starkville, followed by another contest in 2015 in Hattiesburg. The games will take place during the opening weekend of those respective seasons.
The announcement came Thursday at a news conference in Jackson.
The two teams haven't played each other since 1990.
