Bond set in Hattiesburg drive by shooting case

By Jeff Daley jdaley@wdam.com

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Three of the four suspects in Monday's drive-by shooting on Hardy Street made their initial appearance in Justice Court on Wednesday.

Thirty-year-old Montarro Collins of Magee, 31-year-old Dennis Smith, and 24-year-old Marlon Wilson appeared before Municipal Judge Jolly Mathews, each on two counts of drive by shooting.

A fourth suspect, Kentorre Hall of Bassfield, who apparently is a paraplelegic and confined to a wheel chair, was released on bond Monday because the jail is apparently not equipped to handle his medical needs.

Judge Mathews set bond for Collins, Wilson and Smith at $500,000 on each count. The amount of the bond  for hall is unknown.

On Tuesday Montarro Collins was taken to Simpson County for sentencing on 2008 Weapons charges and received five years in jail.
