SLIDELL, La. (AP) - A man suspected of robbing a Wendy's restaurant in Slidell last week was arrested Monday after police in Mississippi identified him in a security video as a suspect in a Poplarville robbery, authorities said.
Jimmy Owen, 31, of Slidell, was arrested in Hattiesburg, Miss.
Slidell police were contacted about Owen after a Poplarville police officer recognized him on the video of a local armed robbery, which was described as similar to the Wendy's incident.
Slidell Police spokesman Kevin Foltz said officers located Owen's wife, who told them she and her husband had been on a weekend-long heroin and cocaine binge in New Orleans. After leaving the city, Owen dropped his wife off in Waynesboro, Miss. Police then tracked him to the Hattiesburg area.
