ANTIOCH, CALIFORNIA (WDAM) - Visitors to Google Maps and Google Street View can get a closer look at the home and van of the man arrested for allegedly kidnapping an 11-year-old girl and holding her at his home for 18 years, during which she allegedly gave birth to two of his children.

Phillip Garrido's backyard can be seen clearly from above on the popular mapping service, and some believe he chased a Google employee as they snapped photos for Google Street View.

If visitors begin with the parked vehicle and then click on the interactive viewer following the road backwards from the Garrido home, they can see the van following the photographer to a nearby intersection.

Garrido was arrested on Aug. 26 after investigators saw him and his wife, Nancy, with two young children at the University of California in Berkeley handing out religious pamphlets, according to the Houston Examiner.

His parole officer called him in for questioning, and Garrido arrived with both Dugard and the two children he allegedly fathered with her.

Garrido, who was a convicted kidnapper and rapist out on parole, allegedly kidnapped Jaycee Dugard from a bus stop. Dugard gave birth to two children while in captivity, one at the age of 14.

Garrido allegedly kept Dugard captive in a backyard complex of sheds and tents.

Investigators are now searching for clues which may link Garrido to 10 unsolved murders nearby his home.
