HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Four new officers joined the Hattiesburg Police Department Monday with the combined experience of almost 30 years.
At a swearing in ceremony at city hall Monday afternoon, officers Chad Young, Juston Frazier, Casey Sims and Kenrick Short became the newest members of the force. All four men have police or military backgrounds and took their oath in front of city leaders as well as their families.
Chief Frazier Bolton says by adding the officers, the city's department now stands at about 130 officers. Before hitting the streets the newly sworn officers will first go through some refresher courses as well as additional field training.
