Over 300 graduate from William Carey

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Over 300 students received their diplomas this weekend at four separate graduation ceremonies at William Carey University.

Friday night William Carey nursing students attending the New Orleans campus held their ceremony. Saturday undergraduate and graduate students held separate commencement ceremonies.

Paul Cotton was guest speaker for the undergraduate ceremony. He is the former director of the Ellisville State School. He now serves as a professor of music and psychology at the school. 

William Carey president Tommy King also spoke at the commencement.

    Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict confirms a 2-year-old girl died at Forrest General Hospital over the weekend due to complications from the flu. Benedict said the child is from Sumrall.
