HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A man accused of murder confessed his crimes to WDAM on camera shortly after bond was set at the Forrest County Justice Court.

Video of the incident is included with this story.

Devin Fortune, 28, of New Orleans was charged with one count of homicide of Archie Brooks, 47, who was found dead Sunday afternoon at Oakwood Apartments.

His bond was set at $1 million.

Hattiesburg police arrested him in connection with the death of his roommate found inside their apartment on West Fourth Street.

Published reports said Brooks was a transgender who was born a female.

Police believe the incident is the result of a dispute between the two individuals.

"At his time we are confident we feel that we received enough information either from witnesses or from information that we got from the scene that we believe that this individual is going to be directly involved with the incident," said Sgt. Synarus Green, Hattiesburg police spokesperson.
