LAUREL, MS  WDAM's tools for schools supplies drive in Laurel was indeed a success.

On Wednesday WDAM employees and the ladies of the Laurel Junior Auxiliary delivered the school supplies that were donated at Kim's No Bull on Tuesday.  The donations were distributed to both the Laurel and Jones County School Districts.  School officials say they are thankful for the generosity of area residents.  This project is designed to help families that need some extra help in purchasing their children's school supplies.

"All I can say is wow. We are so excite about the wonder supplies that have been donated by our community." said Lacy Walter with the Laurel School District.  "This is truly going to benefit our students and help them get a great start to what we are anticipating to be an exciting school year. "

Chuck Benigno with Jones County Public Schools said  "I am not surprised by the community support. The Jones county and Laurel area really values education and so yesterday was exciting for us, and as you see behind us we got lots of goodies."

Benigno said "Our students need these. Every year we have students that come to school and they are missing those things to get off to a good start, so this will help us a great deal."

Wdam's tools for school drive will also be held in Hattiesburg on July 30 at Strickland furniture on highway 49.
