Strong winds cause damage in Pine Belt

What's believed to have been a microburst near the Bellevue community in North Lamar county caused the metal roof of a old lumber building to blow onto a car.  The incident took place around 4:00 Friday afternoon near the intersection of Hwy 589 and Hwy 98.  Officials say one person had minor injuries, but that person is doing well and was not taken to the hospital.

A microburst is a column of sinking air usually associated with thunderstorms. The air can fan out resulting in damaging straight line winds.
