Jackson, MS (WDAM)-The chickenpox vaccine is now required for all Mississippi school children in both public and private schools.

The only two exceptions are for those with a history of chickenpox or a confirmed immunity to the virus.

The vaccine is given in two doses and health officials sais both are required to begin the 2009-2010 school year.

All required vaccines are available at the Health Department for $10 each.
