LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The city of Laurel held its final fundraiser for their "Night Out Against Crime" event.
Laurel City Police Department sold over 300 ribeye lunches for $5 each on Friday.
Event organizer, Shannon Caraway, said this money will go towards getting school supplies for needy kids.
"We have so many kids that look forward to this event," said Caraway. "We have so many needy families that are depending on us to help them make their school year. We have teachers and some principals are encouraging us to do this because we some of their kids need school supplies. So we do a fundraiser, raise money to give them what they need."
Laurel night out against crime will be August 4 in Mason Park.
