COLLINS, MS (WDAM) - Home and business owners in Collins could soon seen savings on their insurance premiums.
The city's fire protection classification rating has been decreased from a class-seven to a class-six.
The Mississippi Rating Bureau notified city officials June 30 of the change.
This means homeowners could see a savings of 5 to 15 percent on their premiums, while business owners could see a drop in premiums from 10 to 25 percent.
City fire officials said new equipment and additional training led to the change in classification.
