Ellisville police searching for thief

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Ellisville and Laurel police are searching for a suspect who committed two crimes in two cities within minutes.

Police said the man busted out a car window in the parking lot of Alexander's Hardware in Ellisville, stole a wallet and headed to Laurel where he visited a Wal-Mart and purchased $1,500 worth of merchandise on a credit card taken from the wallet.

Police are asking the public to help in apprehending the suspect.

The national chain pledged 10 cents from every gallon of gas sold from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. It's all part of the company's "Fueling Our Schools" fundraising campaign.
