JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Jones County officials say the county's burn ban remains in effect indefinitely.
The Jones County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to extend the burn ban.
Board president Andy Dial said Monday's rain wasn't enough to give citizens the ok to start back burning debris.
"Commercial burning with a permit can be done, but actual burning around houses and different things, people need to hold up on that till conditions get better," he said.
Dial added anyone caught burning would be fined.
