PEARL, MS (WDAM) - FEMA is selling off 117 trailers that once housed Hurricane Katrina victims.
The surplus travel trailers are available for auction to the general public. Potential buyers had a chance to check out all the trailers Friday in Pearl. The starting prices on some of the is $200.
FEMA sent more than 120,000 trailers to Mobile, Ala., and the Mississippi Gulf Coast after the devastating storm in 2005.
A CDC report indicated the trailers exposed people to higher than normal levels of toxic formaldehyde, but that didn't seem to phase many Friday who were in the market to buy.
