CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - The 155th Brigade Combat Team is on its way to Iraq.

The brigade started leaving for the Middle East on Monday.

The 155th is made up of about 3,200 troops from 11 different units. Tuesday, 268 troops boarded chartered buses to Gulfport.

Several soldiers said it's hard leaving their families behind.

"It's really hard; I have a small child and a wife and home and one-year-old baby, so it's really hard to miss her growing up over the next year," said Spc. Ryan Kite.

"The last time I did it I was just married and didn't have any kids so it wasn't as hard. But it's still difficult," said Sgt. Michael Spears.

This is the second tour of duty for the 155th going to Iraq. They last deployed in 2005. The troops will be deployed for nearly a year.
