Eagles lose to North Carolina

OMAHA, NEB (WDAM) - The dream season has ended for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles Baseball Team.

The Eagles took on a red-hot North Carolina team today in an elimination game at the College World Series.

The Tar Heels pounded out a world series tieing record with 23 hits on its way to an 11-4 victory over the Eagles.

It was Corky Palmer's last game as the Golden Eagles head coach. He led his team to seven straight NCAA tournaments and its first world series appearance.
