A 28-year-old Scott County man drowned this afternoon in Covington County. It happened shortly after 4 p.m. at Seminary Falls on the Okatoma River.

The victim's name has not been released yet, but Covington County Sheriff Ben Ford says he was from the town of Forest and was swimming with some friends when he suddenly went under and never resurfaced.

Rescue divers found his body about 2 hours later.

They tried to resuscitate him, but were unsuccessful.
