HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Lyn McCrory owns Pro Travel Incorporated in Hattiesburg, and since Southern Miss fans learned their team was Omaha bound, she's been receiving phone calls from folks eager to make the trip to the mid west.

"I think they are very excited," said McCrory. "I mean everyone in Hattiesburg and the surrounding areas are very proud."

McCrory said on Monday there were no problems booking fan's flights at a reasonable cost, but Tuesday proved a little more challenging. "We can still find availability on the flights and everything, it's just the cost of the airline tickets. When the cheaper seats sell out then you pay more for the airline ticket."

She said on average a round trip air plane tickets to Omaha are costing around $325.00 as of Tuesday.

Some fans are opting to fly into nearby cities.

"Some people are not flying all the way into Omaha; they are going into Kansas City and then driving to Omaha and that way it's a little less expensive."

When it comes to hotel accommodations, Pro Travel is finding available downtown Omaha hotel rooms to be on the pricey side - around $285.00 a night.

Because of that cost, most fans are staying outside of the city yet still within a close driving distance to Omaha.
