Authorities arrest 10 in Perry County

PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A drug roundup in Perry County on Wednesday resulted in the arrests of 10 people, six of which remain in jail while four others were transported to Forrest County on other charges.

The arrests came after several months of undercover observations. Sheriff Smith said the charges ranged from possession of precursors with intent to manufacture to the sell of control substances.

Authorities said they hope the arrests send a clear message to all drug dealers that Perry County will not tolerate the drug trade and will do everything in their power to stop it.

The Bureau of Narcotics, Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Mississippi Army National Guard, and the 12th Judicial Task Force all participated in Wednesday's roundup.
