ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - A 20-month-old Ellisville child is said to be recovering after being hospitalized in Jackson after testing positive for opiates and morphine.

In addition, Jones County authorities said the child's father was producing methamphetamines in his front yard.

Deputies said Hurtt, the child's biological father, was taking care of the child while the mother was away. When she returned, the child was found lying on the floor unresponsive. The child was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Hurtt at his home in the 100 block of Ellisville Junction Road where they discovered an alleged meth lab in the front yard.
