Canton man arrested in association with auto-theft ring

Jones County deputies arrested a Canton man Tuesday in association with an auto-theft ring.

Sheriff Alex Hodge said he believes Marshall Langston, 28, is the primary person responsible for bringing stolen cars into the Pine Belt from the Jackson area.

Hodge said Langston lives in Canton but is originally from Hebron.

The county has recovered 20 stolen cars so far, and officials believe more vehicles are in Jones County and surrounding areas.

Hodge said Langston will now go before a justice court judge.
