Two plead not guilty in murder of second grade teacher

LAUREL, MISS (WDAM) - Two Laurel residents have pleaded not guilty to the murder of second grade teacher Rebecca Pruitt.

Kkenya Davis, 17, and Rickey Gavin, 23, entered not guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Billy Joe Landrum Tuesday.

The two allegedly murdered Pruitt at her home during an attempted robbery.

Davis and Gavin are also facing two additional charges, arson and theft of a motor vehicle, which they pleaded not guilty to as well.

Both cases are scheduled to go before Landrum in August.
