Spirit of Women Hospital
Network is a national coalition of hospitals and health care facilities
in more than 75 U.S. cities joined together to advance the cause and
business of women’s health. Spirit of Women is a national
movement - more than just a media campaign or a
series of events, but a movement led by hospitals across the United
States and supported by corporate partners and national media with the
mission to move women to take action for better health…mind,
body and spirit. With more than 6,300 members, Forrest General is the exclusive
Spirit of Women hospital for South Mississippi, recently attaining Premier
status in recognition of strong efforts in moving women to take action

Women who join Spirit of Women at Forrest General are lifetime members
in the Spirit of Women organization even if you move to another area,
you can transfer your membership to another Spirit of Women
organization in your new area. Spirit of Women members receive
discounts at Spirit of Women events, a monthly calendar of events, a

Spirit
of Women’s programs:
Spirit of Women offers a wide variety of programs, designed to appeal
to women of all ages! Each year programs are customized to meet the
needs of today's women and their families, providing health education
events and health screenings in a fun and entertaining way - it's what
we call "health-u-tainment." Great speakers provide the entertainment
on topics ranging from gardening to home decorating, while experts from
Forrest General relay important health information covering all stages
of a woman's life. While events each year vary, Forrest
General’s Spirit of Women does present several events
annually, including our Day of Dance, which includes the
hospital’s largest health screenings event of the year;
Girls’ Night Out, featuring pampering and fun, along with
valuable health information; The Spirit of Women annual Spring Event,
featuring a dynamic speaker, delicious lunch and the Spirit in Action
Awards; Girl Talk, designed as a time for moms and their daughters to
learn about the changes that adolescence brings. Forrest General also
hosts many other events, including health screenings, road trips and
more! Forrest General’s Spirit of Women is also host to the
Spirit Girls teen board, created for girls in grades 7 – 12
and designed to empower young women to take action for their health and
for our community.
