Carey got back to its walk-off ways in the first game of the 2018 NAIA national tournament.     Seminary High School spent the better part of Friday night chasing the strike zone, and as a result, spent all evening chasing St. Andrew’s Episcopal High School on the scoreboard. St. Andrew’s tagged Seminary pitching for 11 hits and gladly accepted 11 walks from the Bulldogs, filling the basepaths with a flock of Saints as it evened its Class 3A South State championship baseball series with a 12-5 victory at Bulldog Field.

    The Golden Eagles have been on a tear as of late, winning 12 of their last 13 games. Ninth-year coach Scott Berry attributes the Eagles’ recent success to pitching and defense. During its 14-game stretch, USM went a school-record eight games without making an error. Following a dramatic come-from-behind win over South Jones on Friday to force a game three, Hattiesburg jumped all over the Braves from the first pitch on Saturday.
