Top Bush Strategist Visits H'burg

The president's senior political adviser Karl Rove was in Hattiesburg over the weekend visiting family and friends and told News 7 in an exclusive interview that he's confident Bush will win in November.

"Well, he's got a day job to do, so he's not able to campaign full-time," said Rove. "There's always a tension in an incumbent White House between the necessities of governing and the necessity of campaigning, but he'll be fine.

"Americans appreciate the steady leadership that he's given in the War on Terror and on strengthening our economy and the values that he represents and they know he's in sync with the American people and over the course of time, people will find out that John Kerry really is the most liberal member of the United States Senate and that's not going to go down too well," Rove said.

Rove spoke to News 7 during a book signing at the Purple Parrot Cafe featuring Mississippi author Julia Reed.
