HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Jones County Sheriff's Department website has a new jail roster feature.

Now, the inmate roster will be available on the website for public viewing. The public can now view booking information and mug shots of individuals being held in the Jones County Adult Detention Facility.

Sergeant Shemica Keeton says this feature will be a convenient tool for the facility and keep the citizens informed.

"This roster is not only important for me it is important for the public as well. This is going to cut back our call volume here at the Jones County Adult Facility simply because we have family, we have victims that are concerned about the well being of loved ones as well as offenders that come into our facility. So, this does show to the community that we are putting forth the effort to keep them safe," said Keeton.

For more information about the website contact Jones County Sheriff's Department at (601) 425-3147.
