HOLMES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A 24-year-old Forrest County man serving prison time for burglary has been found dead in the Holmes County Jail and authorities are investigating it as a possible homicide. Kelvin Ray Hollimon of Rawls Springs was found lying on the floor of a holding cell in Holmes County Thursday.

He was taken to a Jackson hospital where he later died. Officials have tentatively labeled the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.

We are told there were several inmates in the holding cell with Hollimon. Holmes County Sheriff Willie March says they have a possible suspect but no charges have been filed yet.

Hollimon was convicted of burglary charges in September in Forrest County and sent to Rankin County for Processing.

He was later transferred to Holmes County.
