PRENTISS, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Department of Transportation is opening a new stretch of 4-lane road on Tuesday along U.S. Highway 84 in Jefferson Davis County.
The switch will eliminate the last remaining two-lane section along Highway 84 in the area.
Transportation officials say work will continue to make Highway 84 a four-lane from Natchez to Collins.
The highway is already four lanes from Collins to Waynesboro and, ultimately, the Alabama line.
