Woman sentenced in slaying

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Gulfport woman has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in the 2008 slaying of her ex-boyfriend.

A Harrison County jury on Wednesday convicted Andrea McKay of murder in the death of Vincent Weathersby.

The Sun Herald reports that prosecutors say McKay admitted she stabbed Weathersby the night of April 21, 2008, but claimed she was aiming for his arm and didn't mean to kill him.

Prosecutors say the stabbing occurred after an argument.
