LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The auction last month of mobile homes and travel trailers once intended for hurricane survivors is raising some concerns.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency sold 1,047 units that had been stored at the Hope Municipal Airport for $7.2 million.
Some in the industry are worried the sale will flood the market and undercut private dealers while state regulators wonder if the units fall under their authority.
The homes were built in 2005 for use by victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita along the Gulf Coast - however many went unused.
