BENTON, La. (AP) - A Bossier Parish inmate who walked away from a work detail at the minimum security facility a week ago is back in custody.
Sheriff Larry Deen tells The Times of Shreveport that 27-year-old Julio Kennum and his girlfriend from Guatemala, 26-year-old Krsna Keli Stuber, were arrested at a Garland, Texas motel less than 48 hours after fleeing the Bossier Parish area.
Deen said Keenum was assigned to take care the sheriff's K-9 when Stuber picked him up Oct. 30, down the road from the Minimum Security Facility.
Keenum, of New Orleans, was serving a 7-year sentence for simple rape.
