MARION COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Several ideas are being tossed around by state and local officials on how to use the Columbia Training School facility.
The Mississippi Department of Human Services controls the facility. Last week, Columbia citizens and leaders toured the facility to discuss possible ideas for the future.
Pearl River Community College President William Lewis was also present. Lewis said he is glad PRCC is in the talks of how the facility will be used.
"Hopefully we can continue along the path of having these discussions and some doors will be open to present more hire education opportunities for the folks in Marion County," said Lewis.
There are no definite answers of what is to come to the facility, but Marion County officials hope to have more talks soon.
