Still No Word of a New Attorney in the Thaddeus Edmonson Case

Its day four passed the deadline and still no official word whether Laurel Councilman Thaddeus Edmonson has a new lawyer. Just before Monday's court imposed deadline, the embattled city councilman notified Jones County Court officials that he had obtained new representation to defend him against influence peddling charges. But as of Thursday, court officials have had no official contact or verification from the still unnamed lawyer, who is said to be out of town. Edmonson told New Seven he has conferred with an attorney who he refuses to name and that he can not wait to go to court to prove his innocence.
