    An inmate was found dead in the Forrest County Jail on Monday morning.  Forrest County Investigator John Tryner said a guard was doing a routine check around 5 a.m. when the inmate was found dead in a cell.     Chris Robinson took over a JCJC softball program nine years ago that won just 10 games in the season prior. Nine seasons later, the Lady Bobcats have won 391 games under Robinson, the most recent giving Jones County its first national championship in school history. “It's night and day,” Robinson said. “Coach Bob Herrington and I talk about this, we took over a program that won ten games.

    Coach Joe Hartfield had big shoes to fill when he stepped in the season following Hattiesburg’s 2006 state championship, when the Tigers were led by Larry Knight. Twelve years later, Hartfield has brought the Tigers their sixth state title and the first in his 20-year coaching career. "[Hattiesburg] won it in 2006 under coach Knight and coach Knight left a huge legacy to fill,” Hartfield said. “We're just glad to be able to hang another banner."
