Jack Abraham eager to learn new USM offense

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Jack Abraham has quarterbacked under three different offensive coordinators at Louisiana Tech, Northwest Mississippi Community College and Southern Miss.

The junior is tasked with learning a fourth offense with newly-hired co-offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner and wide receivers coach Scotty Walden running things in 2019.

“Mainly the tempo and the terminology,” said Abraham, when asked what’s different about this year’s offense. “Obviously, the terminology’s going to change from one offense to the other, that’s just the nature of it. It’s simple, but it’s just a lot of stuff, a lot of words. We’ve got to do a good job of getting in the meeting room and learning that stuff. Getting a lot of good viewpoints on offense and getting coached by a lot of good coaches. I try not to look at the negative side of things. It’s obviously a new offense but I’ve done it for the past three years so I should be pretty good at it by now.”
