PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Perry County Vocational Technical Center has a wide variety of subjects for students to learn from.

There are nine different programs that your child can enroll in to help prepare them for college. One of the classes is the Health Science department, where students can interact and have real-world experience at their fingertips.

Savannah Stevenson, Health Science Instructor at Perry County Vocational Technical School said that students can job shadow people within a Health science occupation.

"I get to take them to job shadows, they are allowed to job shadow individuals in healthcare," said Stevenson.

Abby Ellis is a sophomore in the Health Science program and described her experience in the classroom.

"We got to like see patient's go in the LPN's there and the nurse practitioner, she told us all about what they do," said Abby. "We learn things about dentistry, physical therapist, anything in the medical field pretty much."

Students from both Richton High School and Perry Central High School are eligible to enroll in classes.
