HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg native and author of the acclaimed “Bones” series of mystery novels spoke to students at Sacred Heart High School Wednesday.
Carolyn Haines met students who are taking a course on Mississippi writers.
Haines was born in the Hub City, but grew up in Lucedale.
She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and was a photojournalist for the Hattiesburg American newspaper before starting her career as a novelist.
She now lives in Mobile, Alabama.
During her visit to the school, Haines spoke about characters in her books and signed some copies of her books for students.
