Miss. Power hosts seminar to get students job ready

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -Mississippi Power is providing job readiness training for eleventh and twelfth graders across Mississippi. A seminar was hosted at Calvary Baptist Church Saturday morning, where students received job interview tips and advice on how to prepare for a job.

Students also learned how to perfect their resumes and were given mock interviews by Mississippi Power and Laurel business leaders. Students say the event was a great learning experience.

“It’s just a great experience to learn and gain knowledge about how to get a job, how to keep a job, and how to be professional in and out of work places," said John Thomas, a Laurel High school senior. “I feel like it’s a great help to me and my fellow classmates not only from my school at laurel, but also other students.”
