Jones, PRCC wrap up regular season play

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Local teams in the MACJC wrapped up regular season play on Thursday night with playoff implications on the line.

Jones College defeated Copiah-Lincoln 91-58 to improve to (18-5, 12-2 MACJC).

Pearl River Community College beat Meridian 72-61 to finish the regular season 21-2 (12-2 MACJC). While they finish with identical division records, the Bobcats earn the No. 1 seed based on their tiebreaker over the Wildcats.

The MACJC tournament will be held in Ellisville next week.

The No. 13 Lady Bobcats took down Copiah-Lincoln 81-60 to improve to 21-2 (13-1 MACJC). Jones plays on Monday at 5:30 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.

The Lady Wildcats finished the season strong with a 61-50 win over Meridian to improve to 16-7 (9-5 MACJC).

PRCC sits in a four-way tie with Mississippi Gulf Coast, Co-Lin and East Central for the final three spots in the MACJC tournament.

The league’s Athletic Council is expected to meet on Friday morning to determine playoff seeding.
